Summer Magic
A Minimalist Exploration
Inspired by minimalist artists like Anne Truitt, Dan Flavin, and Ellsworth Kelly, this series celebrates colors, lines, and shapes through food photography featuring fruits with colorful backdrops. The work is organized into three subseries: matching colors with Korean melon, dragon fruit, and starfruit against white backgrounds; watermelon compositions emphasizing simple lines and shapes; and analogous color pairings of yellow and green bananas on contrasting backdrops. This project elevates food photography from commercial advertising into fine art, demonstrating the aesthetic potential of familiar and exotic produce through studio lighting and thoughtful composition.
